My name is Mark Mazzagatti, and I’m a fourth year Public Relations major at Kent State University. And while KSU was made famous by Neil Young in “Four Dead in Ohio,” there’s a lot more to Kent State than those 1970 shootings, I swear. For example, there’s some great bars downtown, and Chipolte and Franklin Square Deli make the best food I’ve ever eaten. That has to mean something, right?
On a different, slightly more serious note, I am a huge fan of music and sports. Musically, I listen almost exclusively to very literate underground alternative/punk/post-hardcore bands mostly on indie record labels, although I will give any music with some artistic credibility a chance.
My favorite band is Brand New. For fun, I love to go out: to concerts, to the movies, to the bar with friends, and especially to sporting events (professional or college). Basically, I’m just a friendly person who loves to meet and interact with people.
See? Don’t I look like I enjoy talking to people?
This leads me to my biggest passion: sports. I am a diehard fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers and Ohio State Buckeyes. My favorite player, like almost anyone else who loves pro basketball, is King James.
Therefore, I decided to make the focus of my blog on public relations in sports.
Why else would I want to write a blog? I am a very passionate, sarcastic, articulate, opinionated (friends might even say narcisstic) person who loves to hear myself talk. Honestly, I really feel the need to express myself. So I figure, what better place?
