Guess Who’s Back?

(Cue the killer Dre beat to “Still D.R.E.”)

At the end of last spring’s semester, I went into blog retirement. For better or worst, my life had reached the point where I didn’t have time for a self-serving blog. In the summer I worked at a PR/marketing internship for Metroparks, Serving Summit County for 30 hours a week and then worked another 20-plus hours as a server. Fast forward to this semester and the most time consuming class I’ve ever taken: PR Campaigns. A class where I learned so much, but it was a lot to deal with.

Well, that time of my life is over. I’m done with Campaigns and done with that internship – done neglecting my friends and family. In fact, I’ll be graduating in less than week. So with my extra free time, I’m staging a comeback like Clemens – minus the steroids.

But there will be some changes… I plan on being even more blunt and “real,” if that’s possible. I also want to incorporate my passion for indie music into the discussion. (Fair warning: most people probably won’t be into my favorite music. But to quote Cartman: “I DO WHAT I WANT!”)

I’ve got a lot to catch you up on, and the posts will be coming out fast and furious like a C.C. Sabathia fastball. I hope you’ll join me.

What I’m Listening to: Lydia, “One More Day”

This atmospheric slow jam, complete with an incendiary guitar solo, resonates with me today because it articulates a countdown – for me, the countdown to graduation and potentially the real world.

Key lyric: “Don’t you say that I’ve gone crazy – ‘cuz I haven’t gone crazy yet. I just lost my mind, but I’ve still got you.
